Ever feel like you've tried everything, but it's not working, and you're not healing? Wonder why? Keep reading.....
Hard truth:
You're not consistent.
You do the work, but you stop when you feel good.
Example: you feel anxious, you challenge your thoughts today, but tomorrow you ruminate and it keeps spiraling into the week. You wonder why you're not healing, but again....did you practice consistently?
Consistency here refers to the regularity in which you choose healthy choices that are aligned with healing. Going to therapy + choosing to date breadcrumbing people = not aligned with healing.
Focusing on your symptoms but not focusing on the root guarantees that you're going to keep having issues. Example: you keep having fear based thoughts. You try to focus on that, but you dismiss the root which is you don't feel safe with yourself and you don't trust yourself to get you through life. Guess what? You're going to keep having fear based thoughts, because in order to heal, you first need to feel safe in your body.
Accountability is needed during the healing process. I used to be an alcoholic, a drug addict, and a heavy smoker. At some point, I just had to take accountability for my BS, and admit my lack of consistency in choosing healthy options for myself was the reason why I was sick.
When you take accountability, it's not about allowing that fact to pull you into a downward spiral. It's about being accountable, and saying "I'm responsible for my healing, so what can I do to ensure that I heal?"
In 2023, are you being consistent with your healing or flip-flopping it?
